About Us
MyLiszt™ is designed to help potential patrons find the performances that might interest them, all in a single, convenient location.
Our Mission
We aim to make the performing arts more accessible to the public and to grow audiences for performing arts organizations.
Why are you doing this?
We at MyLiszt are strong believers in the value of live performances with live audiences, and we want to make it as easy as possible for patrons to find performances and for arts organizations to let patrons know about their performances.
What does it cost?
Nothing. MyLiszt is a free service for arts patrons, and we want to keep it that way. It is currently free for arts organizations as well, and we hope to find a funding model that permits us to keep it that way.
Where do I buy tickets?
Elsewhere. MyLiszt is a calendar and awareness service only. We do not sell tickets. Where possible, we provide a link to the arts organization’s website, where you can either buy tickets or find information on how to do so.
Where else can I learn about performances?
Go to your favorite organization’s website, or read your social media feed. This service is non-exclusive – performing arts organizations can and should continue to advertise and promote their performances wherever and whenever they think best.
Why just music listings, mostly in Minnesota’s Twin Cities metro area?
Well, we have to start somewhere. The support of both patrons and performers will help us expand!
What’s with the “Z”?
We take our name from Hungarian composer, conductor, teacher, and pianist Franz Liszt. And that funny-looking version of the letter “Z”? That’s our variation on quarter note rest in musical notation. In music, knowing when to pause is important – just as it’s important to pause from all the busyness of life and enjoy live arts performances.
What’s this Mailing List?
Well, we don’t actually have one yet, but we definitely want to plan for the future.
Do I have to enter my preferences every time?
You read our minds. We hope to create patron accounts – free – that will let you save your preferences for the kind of performances you want to see or hear, just changing the date. But that’s for the next version of this site.
Is this all there is?
No. We plan to expand and improve, and we need your help to do so. Please send your comments and suggestions HERE.
